Casual Citrus Green Breakfast Area
In the casual breakfast area of a New York apartment by designer Ashley Whittaker, chairs take on a new life with citrus green cushions. Whittaker cut down a Ballard Designs Berkley Trestle table and spray-painted it white. The trellis wallpaper is Baldwin Bamboo by Scalamandré. "I love the way the trellis pattern looks with the beamed ceiling," the designer says. "They both feel very organic, but it's the citrus green that makes it all pop."

Green Dining Room Accented with Blue
Bright green walls in a custom color by Fine Paints of Europe give a formal Houston dining room a fresh feeling with major impact. Designer Ann Wolf covered chairs in a rich blue — Malabar's Pasha, because "green and blue is my favorite color combination — one complements the other." A mahogany table inherited from the owner's grandmother was striped and bleached for a new look. The Tibetan jute rug is from Creative Flooring.

French Country Green Dining Room
For the dining room of an Arizona house, designer Cathy Kincaid was inspired by the colors of French country houses. The walls are painted Farrow & Ball's Green Stone. The Chinese Chippendale-style Principe chairs are by Patina and the French Directoire chandelier is antique. The curtain fabric is Keshte in Wheat by Le Gracieux. Conrad shades. Italian-style candlestick with glass hurricane from John Rosselli.

Modern Traditional Green Dining Room
"Green is easy to work with if you use different shades," Pat Healing says. With that in mind, she upholstered the breakfast room's chairs in Sonia's Place Safari vinyl. The shade works with, but doesn't match, the seating in the family room of this New York home. The wallpaper is Moroccan in Green by Phillip Jeffries. Green Courtesan urn is by HB home.

Traditional Green Dining Room
Creating a traditional dining room in East Hampton, New York, designer Rob Southern chose a subtle green palette. "The hand-painted Gracie wallpaper," Southern says, "was the jumping-off point for the room" — the most "vintage" of all the rooms. The mellow natural parchment and mossy greens, as well as the leafy motif, bring the outside in all year round. French doors open to the real outdoors.

Lacquered Green Dining Room
Lacquered green walls bring the dining room of this New York house alive. "Vibrant, shining green takes the fuddy-duddy out of this formal room," says designer Markham Roberts. Queen Anne-style chairs are covered in Braquenié's Coromandel and backed with a Brunschwig & Fils velvet, Botticelli in Olive. Roberts designed the blown-up Chinese medallion rug and the red linen-covered console. The pair of lamps, from James Sansum, are made from 19th-century Chinese vases. Tole chandelier by Vaughan.

Modern Green Dining Room
The curtains in the dining area of this New York apartment are in designer Jamie Drake's Jazzed for Schumacher, a cotton whose stripes alternate between matte and sateen. The painting is by Irene Marniye. "To some, this piece might seem to clash, but when art gets too matchy-matchy with the decor, it loses its edge," Drake says. Chairs from Artistic Frame have seats in Larsen Patent Leather. Walls are painted Summer Lime by Benjamin Moore.
